Tuba Kocaturk is Professor of Integral Design, and Deputy Head of School of Architecture and Built Environment, at Deakin University. She is a registered architect, educator, and a research leader in the field of technology-mediated design & innovation in the Built Environment. Tuba is the founding director of MInD (Mediated Intelligence in Design) Research Lab, a trans-disciplinary and practice-based design-research lab, which operates at the intersection of Built Environment, Information Technology and Sustainable Design Innovation. She has taught, researched and published extensively in the fields of smart urban ecosystems, ambient intelligence and circular transition of the built environment. She holds a PhD degree in Architecture and Building Technology from Delft University of Technology (NL), and has held various academic appointments and fellowships in Turkey, the Netherlands, United States and United Kingdom before moving to Australia in 2018.
