Ross Lambie

Dr Ross Lambie is Chief Economist at the Minerals Council of Australia.
Prior to joining the Minerals Council, he spent two years as Chief Economist and Director of Economics and Industry Policy at the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He has 10 years’ experience as a public sector economist, including in senior positions as Chief Economist at the Department of the Environment and Energy, and as General Manager, Resource and Energy Economics at the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.
Ross began his career in New Zealand’s Financial Markets where he held positions as a trading team manager and Chief Dealer for almost a decade.
Ross has a strong academic background and qualifications in economics, including Bachelor degrees in both Accounting and Resource Studies (Economics major), an Honours degree in Economics (First Class) and a Master’s degree in Commerce and Management (Distinction, Economics major). He also holds a PhD in Public Policy and Economics from the Australian National University.
Ross is a member of the Australian Circular Economy Hub Advisory Board.
