Eija currently maintains a global position as VP Public Affairs at Tetra Pak based in Lausanne, Switzerland. She has 20+ years of international experience in different management roles related to sustainability and public affairs in different industries with background in sustainable finance and fintech. Eija holds a MSc in Economics from Aalto University in Finland and a post-graduate certificate in Sustainability leadership from Cambridge University, UK.

Before joining Tetra Pak, Eija Hietavuo was SVP Sustainability at Stora Enso, one of the world’s largest forest owners and renewable materials companies.

Eija has had several positions of influence as Chairman of 4evergreen (Circular Economy platform for fibre based packaging), Chairman of the CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries) Environmental and Safety Committee, President and Board Member in ACE (Alliance for beverage cartons and the environment), an Executive Board member of EPPA (European Paper Packaging Alliance) and also a member of the Environmental Committee of the Finnish Federation of Forest Industries.
