Dr Larry Marshall is Chair of Fortescue Innovation, and the American Chamber of Commerce, a Director of ASX: Fortescue and Nanosonics; ANU Council and Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
Larry led 6 US companies in Biotech, Telecom, Semi and Venture Capital delivering 3 IPOs. He has a PhD in Physics and is a Fellow of AICD, AIP, ATSE, a Federation Fellow, and an inaugural Male Champion of Change for STEM.
He is the longest serving CEO of CSIRO, and delivered its first growth in 30y, doubling the value delivered to stakeholders and making it the first Australian entity to be Thompson Reuters rated in the Global Top 20 Innovators.
He is the author of the 2023 book, Invention to Innovation: How Scientists Can Drive Our Economy. He has 100 publications and conference papers, holds 20 patents, has served on 20 boards of high-tech companies operating in the US, Australia and China.
