Speaker Profile

Helen is a Principal Sustainability Specialist with thinkstep-anz. She brings decades of experience working across industries, governments and stakeholders to develop product stewardship schemes and make packaging more sustainable.
Before joining thinkstep-anz Helen advised businesses on packaging sustainability, circular economy and recycling, working closely with industry groups like the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) and large consumer brands. Previously she worked as Director of the Centre for Design at RMIT University, which focused on sustainability in product design, packaging and building design.
Helen is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Packaging and an Adjunct Professor with the Institute for Sustainable Futures at University of Sydney. She has published widely on product stewardship and sustainable packaging, including the book Product stewardship in action: the business case for lifecycle thinking.
